550 (2024). Rachel Boyack to the Associate Minister of Agriculture: What assurances, if any, has the Minister sought from his Ministerial counterparts in China that they would follow New Zealand standards for the treatment of live animal exports?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: The Government has stated its intention to reverse the ban while ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare. As we develop the animal welfare standards that will apply to live animal trade, I expect officials to engage and consider the views of officials in China.
