537 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Health: Is surgical treatment available for idiopathic condylar resorption in the Canterbury region; if not why not?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: Yes. I am advised that Christchurch Hospital offers surgery for this condition; however, the surgery offered does not include joint replacement. I am further advised that there are two maxillofacial surgeons in Canterbury who offer this surgery privately, and this includes joint replacement.
