494 (2026). Tamatha Paul to the Minister of Corrections: In regard to the 24% increase of incarcerated women between September 2024 - September 2025, where have the additional prisoners primarily been located and how many of these women are double-bunked?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that to identify and then collate the location of each person who entered or exited the prison network over the 12-month period requested (and if they were double-bunked at any point) would require substantial collation, something that I am not willing to ask of officials. However, I am further advised that Corrections publishes quarterly statistics on its website, including the location of prisoners and breakdown of double-bunking across the prison estate.
