491 (2026). Tamatha Paul to the Minister of Finance: In regard to the 24% increase of incarcerated women between September 2024 - September 2025, what long-term social costs, particularly for children, has Treasury modelled, if any?

Hon Nicola Willis: I am advised the Treasury does not monitor the long-term social impact on children of changes in the incarceration rate of women. Responsibility for this sits with individual portfolio agencies and as such I would suggest the Member direct her question to the responsible Minister.
