Rachel Boyack to the Associate Minister of Agriculture: Does he stand by his statement made to RNZ that he would “seek advice from officials on how to raise welfare standards, which MPI was already working on before the ban came into effect,” if so, what advice has he sought, and when did he seek it?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: I asked officials at the Ministry for Primary Industries to prepare further advice on this matter on 1 February 2024. Following receipt of this advice, I intend to have a follow-up discussion with officials about further advice required.
