456 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: Further to 53818 (2025), how many, if any, claims for abuse in care have been closed by Oranga Tamariki since the interim Claims service was "stood up" in January 2023?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that the total number of claims and inquiries closed since January 2023 is 302. Of the total number of claims closed, 24 were eligible claims.
