455 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Associate Minister of Finance: How many claims remain outstanding with Toka Tū Ake EQC in respect of the Nelson / Marlborough August 2022 Severe Floods and when is it expected that all claims will be resolved?

Hon David Seymour: I am advised that as of 12 February 2024, there were 76 remaining claims from the Nelson/Marlborough floods in August 2022 from a total of 1,515 received. These are claims where access to the site has been compromised so assessments have been delayed. New claims also continue to be lodged as homeowners have two years from the dates of the events to do so. The Earthquake Commission expects most of the remaining claims will be resolved by 30 June 2024.
