452 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: Further to 53789 (2025), does Oranga Tamariki plan to alter its definition of a claim to differentiate between inquiries about making a claim and actually progressing an assessment of a claim; if not, why?

Hon Karen Chhour: Corrected reply: I am advised that Oranga Tamariki is not currently planning to alter its definition of a claim as the existing definition is fit for purpose for their requirements. I am further advised that Oranga Tamariki regularly review definitions, policies, and practices to ensure they remain fit for purpose.
