438 (2026). Ingrid Leary to the Minister of Internal Affairs: What is the specific evidence used to estimate the time, that it takes for Fire and Emergency New Zealand to respond to emergencies, including fires, since 2017?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised by Fire and Emergency that response times are drawn from the Service Delivery Guidelines originally developed under the New Zealand Fire Service, which were based on drive time expectations within the Fire Service Urban Fire Districts. These guidelines have continued to apply. I refer the Member to my response to Written Parliament Question 78 (2026) for additional detail.
