417 (2026). Ingrid Leary to the Minister of Health: Does Health New Zealand collect data on declined referrals for x rays; if so, for which regions, and why?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that most Health New Zealand districts collect this data in different forms but it is not collated at a national level. As the Member may appreciate, previous decisions left Health New Zealand dealing with around 6,000 different application systems - our Government is focused on building a healthcare system that has patients at its centre and ensuring reliable systems for patients and staff.
