393 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: What schools, if any, have received allocations from the $100 million accelerated funding over five years for urgent and essential infrastructure work that she announced on 22 September 2025; and, for each such school, what work was funded, when did that work begin and when was it scheduled to be completed?
Hon Erica Stanford: The $100 million announced on 22 September 2025 increased additional funding available to schools for essential infrastructure works on top of the standard supplementary five-year agreement (5YA) funding by $20 million each year for the next 5 years.
In 2025/26, this increased the amount of funding available to schools from $210 million to $230 million.
322 schools have received funding from the $230 million available so far this financial year.
This funding has been allocated to essential infrastructure projects that include scope such as:
• External cladding replacements
• Internal wall lining replacements
• Plumbing and drainage works
• Roofing repairs or replacements
• Asbestos removal
• Electrical and heating replacements.
The projects funded are part of each school’s five year property plan and are scheduled to start and finish at various times across the next five years.
