338 (2026). Lan Pham to the Minister of Local Government: What advice, briefings, reports, or any other document, if any, has the Minister received on the impact of a single wastewater standard on environmental performance since June 1, 2025, listed by title and date?

Hon Simon Watts: I received the following briefings and aides-memoire about the impact of a single wastewater standard on environmental performance: 1. Proposed wastewater standards: agreement to issue drafting instructions (11 June 2025); 2. Proposed wastewater standards – responding to a memo forwarded by Under-Secretary Court’s office (25 June 2025); 3. Upholding Treaty settlement obligations in the development of the wastewater environmental performance standards (13 August 2025); 4. Water Services (Wastewater Environmental Performance Standards) Regulations 2025 - draft Cabinet paper: approve ministerial consultation (24 September 2025); 5. Water Services (Wastewater Environmental Performance Standards) Regulations 2025 – Approval to lodge (13 October 2025); and 6. Wastewater Standards – technical and drafting issues (23 January 2026). I also received regular updates about the progress of the Wastewater Environmental Performance Standards in the weekly reports provided to me by the Department of Internal Affairs between 1 June 2025 and 27 January 2026.
