328 (2024). Darleen Tana to the Minister for Oceans and Fisheries: What instructions, if any, has he provided representatives of the New Zealand Government attending the 12th meeting of the SPRFMO Commission (COMM12) regarding COMM 12 – Prop 10, proposed by the Australian Government?

Hon Shane Jones: I instructed officials to work with other SPRFMO Commission members to defer Australia’s proposal from the 12th meeting of the Commission on the basis that the Government needed time to consider the implications and consult with stakeholders on Australia’s proposal.
