313 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: How many, if any, Private Secretaries have worked for the Minister since November 27th 2023?

Hon Erica Stanford: Departmental private secretaries are seconded into my office from agencies, ordinarily for 12-18 months. There are six Education Portfolio Private Secretaries from the Ministry of Education, plus one from ERO at any one time. A total of 15 Private Secretaries have been seconded from the Ministry of Education into my office, and two Private Secretaries have been seconded from the Education Review office into my office, between 27 November 2023 and 26 January 2026. 7 private secretaries have served out their full secondment period, 5 private secretaries had their secondment period extended (of these 3 remain on secondment), 4 private secretaries are currently in the initial period of their secondment, and the secondment of one private secretary ended earlier than initially planned.
