306 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Associate Minister of Agriculture: What advice and on what dates, if any, has the Minister sought on the Carbon Neutral Government Programme or any other emissions reduction initiatives within their portfolios?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: I have not sought specific advice from the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) on the Carbon Neutral Government Programme (CNGP). Since 2021/22, MPI has been meeting the requirements of the CNGP by setting emission reduction targets for 2025 and 2030, annually measuring operational emissions, implementing an emission reduction plan, and reporting on progress in its annual reports. The latest progress reporting is in pages 122 to 124 of MPI’s 2023/24 annual report available online at www.mpi.govt.nz/dmsdocument/65736-2023-24-MPI-annual-report.
