287 (2024). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister of Revenue: Does the Minister agree with Linda Mitchell, professor in Early Childhood Education at Waikato University, that proposed tax cuts may lower costs but only for selected families in paid employment; if not, why not?

Hon Simon Watts: I agree that the Coalition government's tax cuts will lower the taxes of New Zealanders, with a particular focus on low and middle income New Zealanders through income tax changes and for families using childcare through FamilyBoost. This government is committed to delivering tax relief to allow people to keep more of what they earn.
