Hon Nicole McKee: I was not involved in recommending the appointment of Mike Spray and Michelle Roderick-Hall. My Office received their nominations in response to my communication seeking nominations, and the Minister of Justice made the decision on who he intended to appoint to the Advisory Group. The Minister of Justice considered the requirements on experience and expertise, as well as on membership balance between the firearm-owning community and the non-firearm-owning community, as determined by sections 90(1) and 90(2) of the Arms Act 1983.
