273 (2026). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Associate Minister of Justice: Did the Minister seek agreement from her colleagues to take part in the appointment process of the Ministerial Arms Advisory Group (MAAG), if so, on what date did she seek agreement?

Hon Nicole McKee: Section 88(1) of the Arms Act 1983 determines that the responsible Minister must establish an Arms Advisory Group comprising a chairperson and up to 8 other members. As I am the responsible Minister of the Advisory Group, I did not seek agreement from my colleagues to take part in the appointments process. I refer the member to WPQ 271 (2026) to note the part I took in the appointment process.
