254 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Education: What actions, if any, has the Minister's departments or agencies, if any, made in implementing the updated Flexible Working (Work From Home) Guidance?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised that the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) has received and reviewed the guidance from the Public Service Commission | Te Kawa Mataaho. The Ministry is reviewing this guidance, taking into consideration its existing policy, wider legislation and the collective employment agreements. The Ministry anticipates providing further guidance on flexible working to leaders in February 2025. I am advised that the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) has reviewed the guidance in conjunction with its existing policy. Work is underway to update the NZQA policy to align to this guidance. This work will be completed in conjunction with the Public Service Association across the next quarter. I am advised that the Education Review Office’s Executive Leadership Team are in the process of considering updates to the Flexible Working Policy in light of the new guidance.
