253 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister for Regulation: Is the Minister planning to create an entirely new department to oversee legislative and regulatory quality, or will it be a departmental agency hosted in an existing department, noting the advice in Chapter 20 of the LDAC guidelines?

Hon David Seymour: Work has started to establish the new agency, including recruitment of an establishment team and the legal process required under the Public Service Act 2020, and I expect it to be established as soon as it is practicable.
