251 (2026). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Justice: How many people did the Ministry of Justice suggest to him as possible nominees to fill two open positions on the Ministerial Arms Advisory Group (MAAG) late last year and was he satisfied with the range of potential nominees provided?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: The Ministry of Justice presented me with two nominees. I was satisfied with the two candidates as they filled the requirements on experience and expertise, as well as the membership balance between the firearm-owning community and the non-firearm-owning community, as determined by sections 90(1) and 90(2) of the Arms Act 1983.
