236 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Prime Minister: What advice, if any, has Cabinet Office provided him, his Chief of Staff, or any member of his office, regarding Hon Chris Bishop’s potential perceived conflict of interest if he were to make decisions as a Minister relating to the Melling Interchange, and on what dates was that advice provided?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: The Cabinet Office met with Hon Bishop on 27 January 2025 to review his interests including as a result of his recent appointment as Minister of Transport, which included discussion of the management plan relating to the Melling Interchange. It provided written advice in February 2025 in the form of a proposed conflict of interest management plan relating to the Melling Interchange. My Chief of Staff and I receive a copy of each Minister’s interests register every six months following the Cabinet Office’s regular review of those registers with Ministers.
