146 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Associate Minister of Justice: Does the minister consider that the Police are competent to manage the administration of firearms regulation?

Hon Nicole McKee: The policy and administrative responsibility for the Arms Act 1983 has been transferred to the Ministry of Justice. I will be receiving advice on the most appropriate location for the Firearms Safety Authority (as administrator of the Act) in due course, as outlined in the coalition agreement.
