134 (2024). Hon Julie Anne Genter to the Minister of Transport: What RUC and FED would each vehicle owner pay respectively, on a return journey from Wellington to Auckland, from 1 April: a BEV, a new Toyota Prius PHEV, and a new Toyota Prius hybrid?

Hon Simeon Brown: The following calculations assume a distance between Auckland and Wellington of 650 km each way and that the vehicles are driven in a way so that the manufacturer-tested fuel efficiency is achieved over the trip: All figures $ including GST Battery electric vehicle $98.80 (RUC) New Toyota Prius PHEV $72.80 (RUC) $21.98 (FED) $94.78 (Total) New Toyota Prius hybrid $42.92 (FED)
