83 (2026). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: What concerns, if any, does the Minister have about the ascension of Indonesia to the Presidency of the UN Human Rights Council and the conflict in West Papua?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: The role of the President of the Human Rights Council is to ensure that Council activities are led in a respectful and constructive manner, which requires neutrality. The President is elected by members of the Council, on a rotational basis.
