57 (2025). Rt Hon Chris Hipkins to the Prime Minister: What aides-mémoire, briefings, memos, notes, reports, or any other advice, if any, has the Minister or their Office received during the week beginning 20 January 2025, listed by agency, title and date received?
Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: As Prime Minister, I regularly request and receive advice from officials on a range of matters. In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I received the following documents from 20 -24 January 2025 from my officials in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC): • Grant of the title “The Honourable” to Executive Council member on leaving office, 21 January 2025 • Appointment ceremony – 23 January 2025, 22 January 2025 • Additional Delegations to Associate Minister of Justice (Hon Nicole McKee), 23 January 2025 • Updating Cabinet Committee membership following the reshuffle, 24 January 2025 • Meeting with the Chief Justice on 29 January – (not released), 24 January 2025 I have received briefings from the Policy Advisory Group, a business unit of DPMC, during the requested timeframe however I am not releasing the titles of these briefings. Also, in my capacity as the Prime Minister and the Minister for National Security and Intelligence, I received one document within the specified timeframe, however, it is not in the public interest to release the title of these document. Furthermore, staff in my office may informally receive documents, including draft documents, from my officials in DPMC and from other agencies, and from Ministers’ offices. This information is not held in a format that can be easily extracted within the time frame.
