56 (2026). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister of Health: What measures, if any, is the Minister using to assess success beyond hospital throughput and waitlists—specifically in terms of preventable admissions, early intervention, and long-term wellbeing?
Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that Health New Zealand has a number of measures within its performance framework. As the Member may be aware, as part of our focus on building a healthcare system that has patients at its centre, our Government is delivering the new primary care health target to ensure that more than 80 per cent of people can see a primary care provider within one week.
