6 (2025). Chlöe Swarbrick to the Minister of Finance: Which international firms, if any, listed by name, have approached the Government in relation to contributing to the building of new infrastructure?

Hon Nicola Willis: The Government has received two market led proposals from proponents who have international firms as investors or stakeholders which relate to the building of new infrastructure. It is not in the public interest to disclose the names of the international firms. As part of the MLP (market-led proposals) process Government is required to meet confidentiality obligations with the proponents. Furthermore, to ensure the potential outcomes represent value for money for the people of New Zealand, it is best that proposals are assessed and negotiated on a strictly confidential basis.
