5 (2026). Hon Rachel Brooking to the Minister for the Environment: What date did she first receive official advice to set a new mid-2026 target for a ban on hard-to-recycle plastics?

Hon Penny Simmonds: In March 2024, I received advice from Ministry for the Environment officials [BRF-4364 refers] providing options for progressing Tranche 3 regulations, including a mid-2026 implementation date, subject to Cabinet decisions.
